Ensure that you are using an adjustment program specifically designated for the L3150/L3156 series. Software meant for older models (like the L3110 or L380) will fail to recognize your machine's firmware architecture.
The L3156 has a that monitors how much ink is ejected into the maintenance box (sponge pads). Epson sets a hard limit (usually around 7,000–10,000 pages worth of cleaning cycles) to prevent ink overflow. Once reached, the printer locks up completely. You will see:
