Do not use the ID-5100’s remote control head cable as a substitute for the OPC-2359. The pinouts are different. You will either get no audio or blow a capacitor.
Mount the Icom UI-7 unit in the chosen location using the provided mounting bracket or screws. Make sure the unit is securely fastened to prevent it from moving around while driving.
To access the installation bay for the UI-7, you must remove the outer protective casings of the radio. In most compatible Icom models, the option board mounts on the main board, accessible through the top cover. icom ui7 am fm unit install
